Sunday in the Park with George

Sunday in the Park with George opens at the end of February and seems to be ready for success. Starring Hollywood darling Jake Gyllenhaal, the play is a Pulitzer Prize winner written by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. It moves between two different time periods as Gyllenhaal portrays two different artists. Respectively, he is the artist Georges Seurat in the 19th century, and then his artistic great-grandson George. The play explores emotional attachments and the agony of creating art in a moving and captivating way.


Jitney has received much critical praise since its opening. The play follows a crew of gypsy cab drivers struggling to cope with life, employment, and relative poverty.
