Prince of Broadway: Heading to the Big Time. Broadway shows have been loved and cherished by millions of fans across the world. This adoration is for both the cast and crew of each individual production. One man who’s been in the industry for more than six decades has had a hand in several, well-known productions. His name is Hal Prince. And now, it’s time to celebrate his life and achievements with a stage musical called Prince of Broadway.


Set to hit Broadway in the summer of 2017, the Prince of Broadway is unlike any other production. It centers around the plays that Prince was actively involved with during each decade. Most of these plays are fixtures on Broadway and across the nation. You’ll hear music from Follies,West Side Story,Cabaret and more. This musical is unique because it blends in so many different story lines from across a vast career.

There’s no official word on casting news yet. The production company hopes to open up the musical on August 24, 2017, at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Regardless of the cast selections, you’ll hear some favorite songs from those captivating plays of the past. There are also new songs and arrangements offered by Jason Robert Brown, who’s known for his work on the play The Bridges of Madison County.

To cap off the excitement of this Broadway musical, Prince is set to direct it himself. Because of his experience with each play, this Broadway run is sure to please all of the hardcore fans. Six decades of work summarized into a nightly play is definitely a challenge, but a fun one at that.

Harold Prince is a legend in the American theatre – the acclaimed director and producer behind a long list of America’s most iconic musicals and the winner of a staggering, record-breaking 21 Tony Awards. Now, he’s bringing together six decades of magical moments in a new musical event, Prince of Broadway.

The show features a book by two-time Tony nominee David Thompson (Chicago), co-direction and choreography by five-time Tony winner Susan Stroman (The Producers), direction by Prince himself, and new songs by three-time Tony winner Jason Robert Brown (The Bridges of Madison County).
